Female Cybersecurity Journalists & Women’s Day

Happy International Women’s Day!

“Breaking barriers and building a stronger future for women in cybersecurity and media! As we kick off the Training Workshop on Cybersecurity Reporting for Female Journalists, we are reminded of the significant gender gap in both fields.

With only 20% of the cybersecurity workforce being female and a lack of dedicated cybersecurity reporting in the media, there’s a clear need to bridge the digital gap for women in these areas.

AIBD is proud to partner with USAID, DAI, ITU, and talented journalists from Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Mongolia, and Thailand to close this gap and empower women with the skills and tools they need to become dedicated cybersecurity reporters.

With only 20% of the cybersecurity workforce being female and a lack of dedicated cybersecurity reporting in the media, there’s a clear need to bridge the digital gap for women in these areas. We’re proud to partner with DAI, ITU, AIBD, and talented journalists from Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Mongolia, and Thailand to close this gap and empower women with the skills and tools they need to become dedicated cybersecurity reporters.

On behalf of AIBD and programme manager of this training, I’d like to express our gratitude to our partners, participating governments and media outlets for their support and collaboration. With this workshop, we hope to pave the way for a regional working group of cybersecurity journalists in Southeast Asia and Mongolia, creating a platform for continued learning and collaboration.

Let’s work together towards gender equality and a stronger, more inclusive future.
